Just updated #rayimage, #rayshader, and #rayrender all to use nativeRaster objects, which means plotting is a LOT faster! Try calling `render_snapshot()` or `render_scene()`—the difference in speed is amazing! You can hardly tell which is the 3D rgl window vs the #RStats device👇

I was tired of the slow plotting in #rayshader/#rayrender/#rayimage from going through brick -> raster -> plotRGB, so (inspired by @coolbutuseless's talk at #rstudioconf) I've switched to generating a nativeRaster object, which is much faster! (video is real time) #RStats

My one-track mind, while watching Netflix: 🧠"... I bet I can make that entirely in R." Animation created in #rstats with #rayrender and #rayimage, using @yutannihilat_en's {string2path} package to convert fonts for rayrender's 3D extruded polygon feature.

‼️Triple-play #RStats package update Saturday! A #rayimage update features better image resizing support, which allowed #rayvertex to get anti-aliasing support, and #raymolecule gets rayvertex support (allowing for toon-shading/stylized materials). Enjoy! #rayverse

New version of rayimage on the CRAN! #rstats #rayimage Improvements: - Added chromatic aberration - Added `interpolate_array()`, a fast function that (when given a matrix/array) interpolates points on a matrix. Like MATLAB's interp2(), or akima::interp (but actually open source)
