Just completed a quick survey of past authors we have published. For about 20%, we are the first literary magazine they have ever been published in. :) #opensub #acceptingsubs #readtheguidelines

A great lecture this afternoon with @stephenpalmer on publishing in journals - very handy! #uwtsd #phdchat #impactfactor #coaching #academia #readtheguidelines
I’ve also begun to understand why my own work doesn’t get published sometimes. “Why didn’t my flash fiction ghost story get published in the 10,000-word+ queer romance journal?” 🧐 🤣 #readtheguidelines
Writers, when you see a listing that looks interesting, please don't forget to click through to a market's home page to see if they are actually open. We are not open today. #ReadTheGuidelines

Great #radio4 #todayprogrsmme interview from 1st AD Tomny Gormley on the return to filming. Positive message for us all. Proud he is a #TPAmbassador! #returntofilming #learnfromthebest #backtowork #bfc #readtheguidelines #staysafe #film
Please remember to remove your name from your story. We read blind for the SmokeLong Quarterly Award for Flash Fiction. And please remember to include 2 stories in your submission in the same document. #readtheguidelines https://t.co/XZ1ObIW079
Perennial reminder for authors: We are a prose short fiction market. Poetry and play scripts will be automatically declined.

If your surname is in your story submission's page headers, it's not anonymous, and will be declined unread.
The slushpile shrank by four stories for that reason just this morning.

By comparison, 5% of subs were rejected for being off-topic (though I suspect the actual number is higher, as the non-anon stories are rejected unread, and undoubtedly include some overlap) #readtheguidelines #knowyourmarket #seriouslyreadtheguidelines
We have an anonymous submissions process, and were happy to see the proportion of non-anonymous subs (which get automatically declined) drop below 7%. #readtheguidelines
We are such huge fans of Nighlight -- please support them any way you can. With your fiction (#ReadTheGuidelines), your dollars, and you signal boosting!

Thank you! Also, authors - please do not rely solely upon any single source of submission guidelines outside our websites. As Ben points out in this thread, the wikipedia pages for our shows are ANCIENT. Also keep in mind guidelines differ PER SHOW. #ReadTheGuidelines
