This is dismissive and discrimatory from start to finish @Petco. What exactly are these 'standards' and how is this enforced? Who gets asked and who doesn't? Why is asking for a personal photo of someone's HOME okay for Q2?! #reallyrachel #reallyjeff

THREAD Homophbia/Transphobia at @Petco So I go to Petco on Roosevelt Road (Chicago) to buy a guinea pig with my boifriend. And when I enter the store with them - the team lead Rachel asks me if I’ve cared for guinea pigs before. I tell her I have. [1]

@Petco @RCoughlinPetco is “show me a photo of your home” actual store policy? Seems like a violation of privacy to me and borderline creepy. This hasn’t been my white cis gendered experience in your store. Corrective action? #reallyrachel #reallyjeff

And then she goes on to tell me that unless I can show her a photo of my home - where my guinea pig will be kept that she won’t be able to sell a guinea pig to me. [3]
