Speaking at the @unacc_ug Side Event during the Renewable Energy Conference & EXPO 2026 organised by @NREP_Uganda and @MEMD_Uganda The Managing Director of UECCC @rbaguma608 highlighted the growing impact of the Electricity Access Scaleup Project (EASP), which has enabled 288,909 households to access clean cooking solutions since November 2024, benefiting over 1.3 million Ugandans and refugees while avoiding an estimated 0.7 million tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually.
He noted that while this progress is encouraging, achieving Uganda's clean cooking ambitions will require stronger partnerships, greater collaboration, and sustained action from all stakeholders.
He emphasized that access to clean cooking is not only about technology and financing, but also about investing in consumer awareness, education, and behaviour change to help communities experience the benefits of modern cooking solutions firsthand.
