Just how bad is Central Maine Power's service according to business customers?
Worse than bad...CMP is so awful that they're in a class by themselves.
Look at the data below: no other utility in the nation comes close!

Google review for @cmpco are simply brutal.
No surprise: corporate owner @avangrid cuts corners at every opportunity to meet "earnings expectations" of shareholders.
Their focus is 💰 not service.
Wrong business model for our grid.

Gotta love those chummy emails from @cmpco's President reassuring us that CMP asks "every day" how they can do better.
Maybe instead they should ask themselves why they're the worst-rated utility in their class for 3 years running.

This graph tells the story of CMP over the past 7 years.
Delivery rates: rose 39% ⬆️
Profits: up 63% ⬆️
Performance: fell 61% ⬇️
@CMPco is being richly rewarded💰while utterly failing us.
But Mainers have a plan to fix that: https://t.co/AI6ET3mK03.

.@CMPco going for the Scrooge award again.
Disabled mom needs power to manage a medical condition; couldn't pay inflated bill; CMP cuts her off; refuses to act even after her doctor sends multiple requests.
Heartless (and illegal).

Since 2014 CMP's net profit has soared from $112 million to $182 million--up 63%.
Residential delivery rates increased 50%.
Customer satisfaction ranking plummeted from #7 to the very bottom of the list at #18.
Mainers are getting the shaft.

$182,888,000: amount CMP pocketed in 2021
30%: increase in profit over 2020
$978,399,000: CMP's 2021 revenue

$129,754,000 = CMP's net income for the 1st 3 quarters in 2021. 27% increase over 2020.
Q4 numbers not released yet but in Q3 they took in $61,303,000. Over $20 million/month.
No wonder their brand color is green.

.@cmpco is hoping the Governor's "utility accountability" bill L.D. 1959 passes (although they pretend to oppose it).
LD 1959 lets @cmpco continue overcharging us while underdelivering.

Why do @cmpco and @versantpower charge us nearly 50% more to deliver our power than Maine's existing consumer owned utilities?
Because CMP and Versant are transferring our hard-earned $ to their shareholders and executives as profit.

Former Public Advocate Gordon Weil isn't persuaded by @GovJanetMills' utility bill:
"Much has been said about Mills’ proposal as a method to hold utilities accountable. In fact, it may do nothing."

All the $$ pouring in to fight the Citizen Initiative is coming from one place: @CMPco's out-of-state corporate overlords at @Avangrid. $0 from Maine.
96% of contributions backing the consumer-owned utility come from individual Maine citizens.

.@GovJanetMills' utility bill is well-intentioned but falls short in solving the fundamental problem: corporate utility monopolies overcharging Mainers while underdelivering an essential service.

Smart letter in @OnlineSentinel:
"Whenever business people start using words like 'government takeover' or 'socialism,' I find that it usually means they’re afraid that some new development is going to eat into their profits."

"CMP exists only to maximize the immediate return to its owner in Spain."

When Maine chose "Dirigo" ("I lead") as its motto I don't think this is the kind of leadership we had in mind:
Most power outages in the nation in 2020: 260% more than U.S. average.
Thanks @cmpco and @versantpower.
Now let's lead them to the exit.

Maine economists say ratepayers will save big with a consumer-owned utility:
"We estimate that Pine Tree Power Co. would save Mainers $9 billion on our electric bills over 30 years and enjoy net savings from year one."

New Mexico to @Avangrid: "Thanks but no thanks."
Regulators just rejected Avangrid's proposal to operate there.
“Boils down to promises versus actual performance,” Commission Chairman Stephen Fischmann said.

@LEFendt Thanks for highlighting this. Mainers have been crying foul on @avangrid and @cmpco for years.
