Railway’s Corruption Runs Top to Bottom? Is IRCTC Failing? - #RIEViews
Nothing, I repeat, nothing comes close to the corruption in Indian Railways. From the highest officials to the lowest employees, everyone is allegedly involved. IRCTC, which is supposed to regulate catering and services, has completely failed.
The biggest scam? Food and catering. Vendors allegedly sell food at double the price, refuse to give bills and threaten passengers who demand one. Even small kiosks inside railway stations overcharge with zero accountability. Lower level railway staff allegedly make 2-3 lac per month in bribes by inflating food costs. This is a multi thousand crore racket happening right under IRCTC’s nose.
The Railway Protection Force (RPF) is nothing more than a taxpayer funded bench warming squad. They allegedly do not act against illegal vendors, do not stop corruption and certainly do not instill any fear. Their salaries are a waste of public money.
IRCTC must be held accountable. Why is it allowing this alleged daylight robbery? Who in the system is protecting these corrupt vendors and employees? The entire network needs an independent probe and passengers must unite to demand real action.
