#RiversAZ L is for River #Lowther-a small river which flows through limestone rock in #Cumbria & a tributary of the River Eamont which is a tributary of the River Eden which flows into the Solway Firth near #Carlisle It flows by @lowthercastle & @AskhamHall ⤵️ @VisitEden

#RiversAZ & it's E for #RiverEden today's coach guiding recce followed the #Eden The #Romans called it Itouna deriving from Celtic ituna, meaning water or rushing. Starting in #Mallerstang it flows north for 90miles to #SolwayFirth @VisitEden @VisitCumbria @CanalRiverTrust

#RiversAZ B is for River #Brathay It rises at 1289ft above sea level nr #ThreeShireStone #LakeDistrict & joins the River #Rothay nr #Ambleside before flowing into #Windermere. For its entire length the River Brathay forms part of the boundary of historic #Lancs & #Westmorland

#RiversAZ B for River Bela a 4 mile river from #Beetham - #Milnthorpe In #Beetham it still powers the @HeronMill & did power @Billerudkorsnas paper mill. It then flows through the #DallamTower before joining the River Kent estuary. @CanalRiverTrust @CumbriaGeo @FriendsofLakes
