Graham Uney will be the speaker at the Society’s Annual Memorial Lecture at Rheged, Penrith on Saturday 28thSeptember at 7.00 pm. Graham's talk will be based around his popular book “Walking the Wainwrights - 64 Walks to Climb the 214 Wainwrights of Lakeland”

Delighted to hand over a cheque for £12,750 last month to to the LDSAMRA at Wasdale Mountain Rescue Team’s Gosforth base. Mountain Rescue has a number of projects to fund, and we're happy for our donation to be used in whatever way will best meet MR’s operational requirements.
All book profits will be donated to Mountain Rescue Cumbria. Not only is the book a great read but you’ll also be supporting a great organisation who rely on public donations to support their life saving work.

Huge congratulations to Tony Hudgell on becoming the youngest ever recipient of a New Year’s Honour. Tony, an Honorary Society Member, was awarded the BEM. He’s raised enormous sums for good causes, including over £50k for charities from his challenge walk up Orrest Head.
