To be honest, this was the most well marketed edition of #RongExperience yet, the artists and team really put maximum efforts in popularising the event, for the fanatics and the haters, everyone was invited for a streetstyle kind of event that could only be experienced in a Wakadinali space. My hopes and anticipation were higher than I was during the event, the organizers did a splendid job on this front.
Events of the Event
I won't dwell on the organizers of the event, Vibelab, really put on a show. From the sound, the stage setup and most importantly the easy access to the location were well put. Everything promised on the poster was delivered, games, street food and Wakadinali music, I ain't got no problem with that. However, for 2,000 Bob, I feel like the event was overpriced. Owing to the fact that this was a ZozaNation event, no outsider artists except well, Masterpiece King. We went from 500 Bob to 2,000 real quick.
I will highlight just a few things.
Natural and man made factors rained on the parade, literally, the Nairobbery skies opened up full force in the night, it RAINED. Since I don't have a cabbage farm in Nairobi, that was not an exciting part of the night for me. HOWEVER, it's what happened when Wakadinali got on stage that made me justifiably unsatisfied. These are the top artists in Kenya right now, there should be no room for rookie mistakes.
For starters, DOMANI MUNGA was not present for their show, which for me was disrespectful to HIS fans for two reasons. This was their show, what other important engagement would he have been tied to other than this? Secondly , this is something that should've been communicated way earlier, some people attended solely to experience individual artists, Munga being one of them. The reasons for his absence, though mentioned in whispers, is a matter of conflict of interest. This begs the question, now that the money has rolled in, is the Wakadinali model really sustainable, how far until each go their own way?
The last straw on the Camels back for me was the millions of people on stage during the Wakadinali performance. Listen, I understand y'all are friends, but ikifika masaa ya kazi urafiki weka kando. At around 2:17 am, I counted 24 people on stage, yet there were only 4 necessary artists on stage. The MC, Gijo, Wakuu music, Masterpiece, Skillo, suddough and the video graph team were justified, but what the fuck were the other 16 dudes doing on stage. At one point, there were 3 dudes shamelessly singing Domani verses. Who the fuck are you and why in hell are you performing songs you have zero artistic input in, also, what are you doing on stage holding a mic for?
For me this is peak unprofessional traits from the Goat's, it's enough that Domani is not on stage, but having 16 extras on stage do nothing but circumnavigate the stage without any meaningful input is mental illness. I say these things as an avid consumer of Wakadinali content,that was very poor performance ethics from the #1 artist in Kenya!

Do you know why the promoter is saying that? Because kumechrome bro! Kama vijana hawana rada mtaa watafutie rada after show, wewe perform set yako freshi for your fans, shughuli zingine mtaenda kufanya huko nje.
Conclusively, the event was a success from an organisers perspective, and maybe in Scar's head, but for the fans, it really wasn't, or atleast for me it wasn't.
Y'all moved the event uptown and carried downtown traits with it.
I know what you think, I must be fun at parties, I promise you, I am not.
The Heavy Nairobi Downpour jana couldn't stop RONG EXPERIENCE 3.0.
