@ASHP_NPF Pre-COVID I would say treat yourself to a nice meal at a cool restaurant in the area but now I think that equates to order from your favorite place on DoorDash and relax. I did a face mask the night before every interview last year, 10/10 recommend #RxInterviewPrep

@ASHP_NPF Agree with @MarchianoRx! I start with where I’ve been and end with where I’m going, ultimate goal of being at their site. If you’re one of those people that has a fun fact use it, or tie in what you like to do for fun #RxInterviewPrep

@ASHP_NPF For my PGY1 I hand wrote notes. I stayed on at the same place for my PGY2. One of my preceptors during my PGY2 received my thank you that fall. For jobs, I decided to send emails rather than risk them finding my thank you a year and a half later. #RxInterviewPrep #snailmailfail

@ASHP_NPF I personally did email thank you’s for jobs because the turn-around time can be very fast with jobs. I wanted them to know how much I liked their position and didn’t want thank yous to get lost in the mail! #RxInterviewPrep

@ASHP_NPF Make sure your presentation is free from errors of fact. Also, if you end up not knowing the answer to a ? DON’T MAKE SOMETHING UP. “I’d have to look that up and get back to you” is appropriate to say. And then actually get back to them #RxInterviewPrep

@ASHP_NPF Take time to reflect on your goals/whether you'd really like to accept the position and, regardless of your decision, make sure to professionally keep all parties in the loop with open communication. Most jobs should be understanding of the job search! #RxInterviewPrep

@ASHP_NPF Rest up, take a mental break and do other things to take your mind off of the interview (I always watched a good movie). You’ve done all the preparation you need, you got this! #RxInterviewPrep

@ASHP_NPF Don’t do what I did and work extra rotation hours to make up the time to reserve PTO days, you will be exhausted. Most preceptors are understanding of the demands of interview season, just make sure you have good communication #RxInterviewPrep

@ASHP_NPF Let your personality show! This was especially important for me since I’m not really the most extroverted person. I think the exact words were “show them a good time”. You’ve already proved you’re qualified, now let them know you’re a great person to work with #RxInterviewPrep

@ASHP_NPF I used to dislike the term "networking" before understanding that it refers to having meaningful relationships with some really awesome people who happen to also like pharmacy! Networking then let me learn tips from mentors and have practice sessions! #RxInterviewPrep

@ASHP_NPF 1. Be passionate about the presentation you are doing 2. Reuse something you’ve already created, and received positive feedback on 3. Keep your audience in mind when creating the presentation, and tailor as able 4. Practice and get feedback before the interview #RxInterviewPrep

@ASHP_NPF Staying organized and communicating openly with your employer about any time off that you may need for interviews as far in advance as possible! Keeping everyone on the same page is a must! #RxInterviewPrep

@ASHP_NPF There aren't any "right answers". You are there to find out whether you will genuinely enjoy your time in that position while trying to best represent yourself! Thinking of an interview as a "fit test" as opposed to a quiz/exam really helped me #RxInterviewPrep

@ASHP_NPF Communicate early with your preceptors about any potential interviews. If you start to see that deadlines for projects may be tight, it’s ok to talk with them to make adjustments up front, rather than be stressed and maybe not put your best food forward #RxInterviewPrep
