With nearly 6 million Canadians unable to find a family doctor and Canada having some of the longest specialist wait times among developed countries, the Liberals have chosen to prioritize funding health care for rejected asylum seekers, which cost over $43 million in 2025. Going back to 2016, that total exceeds $275 million. The question is what Canadians are getting in return when that same money could instead have trained more doctors, reduced wait times, and put more MRI machines into service rather than leaving people on multi-month waitlists. At 10.8 MRI machines per 1 million population Canada ranks 29th out of 33 OECD countries. Japan ranks first with 57 per million people and the USA second with 32 per million people. It gets even more embarrassing because in Canada, health authorities stay busy by sending cease-and-desist orders to doctors who buy their own MRI machines to provide better services. The reason?
