Despite serving the nation with courage and sacrifice, our veterans are forced to wait for treatment and reimbursement.
This is unacceptable.

On 29 December 2025, LoP Shri @RahulGandhi ji raised the serious crisis facing Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS) in the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Defence. He questioned the government and clearly demanded justice, dignity, and world-class healthcare for our Ex-Servicemen, including:
👉Priority treatment for ECHS beneficiaries in all empanelled hospitals through a clear government order
👉Add more hospitals in the ECHS scheme to cover the complete geographical area of the country
👉 Clear all Carry Forward Liabilities (CFL) of previous years’ backlog of pending medical bills of beneficiaries
👉Clear all pending bills of the current Financial year (2025-26)
👉Full budgetary support of ₹18,000+ crore (including CFL) to make ECHS efficient, functional, and financially viable
In continuation of this fight, the Ex-Servicemen Department of the Congress party launched a nationwide “SAVE ECHS” campaign to expose the truth and demand accountability.
