#Gazette notification with April 14, as appointed day for implementation of SC Sub categorisation (#SCClassification) issued; Recruitment to government jobs would forthwith be based on the #sccategorisation.
The Telangana govt has officially enforced the #ScheduledCaste (Rationalisation of Reservation) Act, 2025, coinciding with the 134th birth anniversary of Dr. B R Ambedkar .
The newly enacted law divides the existing 15 percent SC reservation of the total 59, into 3 distinct groups based on population and socio-economic indicators:
Group 1: 1 percent reservation for 15 sub-castes (3.2% of SC population)
Group 2: 9 percent reservation for 18 sub-castes (62.74% of SC population)
Group 3: 5 percent reservation for 26 sub-castes (33.96% of SC population)
