This should be a fun point to address:

I wonder what interfered with the possibility of quickly monetizing Torchlight's assets?
Oh yeah, somehow the Preferred Dividend became tradeable as $MMTLP. Meta was forced to pivot. This hurt them because oil prices were through the roof. It would've been easy IMO to sell the assets resulting in more than the $1-$20 estimate that was floated.
I guess there's no way around addressing MMTLP in the case!
If you think about it, the fact that Next Bridge Hydrocarbons is developing the asset and they didn't sell in the $1-$20 per share range, this hurts those that are holding short positions in Next Bridge Hydrocarbons. They thought they'd avoid a squeeze and get out cheap.
