இந்த பிரிவின் நோக்கம், சிறிய தொழில்நுட்ப பிழைகளுக்காக நீதிமன்றத் தீர்ப்புகளை தேவையின்றி ரத்து செய்வதைத் தவிர்ப்பதாகும்.

அதாவது
ஒரு சான்று தவறாக ஏற்கப்பட்டிருந்தாலும்,
அல்லது ஒரு சான்று தவறாக நிராகரிக்கப்பட்டிருந்தாலும்,
அந்த தவறுகளைத் தவிர்த்து பார்த்தாலும் வழக்கில் தீர்ப்பளிக்க போதுமான மற்ற சான்றுகள் இருந்தால், தீர்ப்பு செல்லுபடியாகவே இருக்கும்.

அதேபோல்
நிராகரிக்கப்பட்ட சான்று ஏற்கப்பட்டிருந்தாலும்,
அது வழக்கின் இறுதி முடிவை மாற்றியிருக்காது என்றால்,
அதற்காக மட்டும் புதிய விசாரணை அல்லது தீர்ப்பு மாற்றம் செய்யப்படாது.
எடுத்துக்காட்டாக
ஒரு வழக்கில் ஒரு ஆவணம் தவறாக சான்றாக ஏற்கப்பட்டது என்று வைத்துக்கொள்ளலாம்.
