El reciente contrato otorgado por el Ayuntamiento de Cárdenas, encabezado por el morenista Euclides Alejandro Alejandro, a la empresa García & Mallitz SA de CV, ligada por lazos familiares a José Friedrich García Mallitz, es el ejemplo perfecto de cómo las formas en el servicio público siguen bajo la sospecha del favoritismo. El contrato No. 5627 A021-002-2025, por un monto de $12 millones 528 mil pesos, suena a cifra estándar para un camión vactor de alta tecnología. Sin embargo, el "pecado" no está en el monto, sino en el origen. La empresa está ligada directamente a José Friedrich García Mallitz, ex titular de la SEDEC en Tabasco durante los gobiernos de Adán Augusto López y Carlos Manuel Merino. Aunque el exfuncionario intentó poner distancia legal de la razón social en 2019, los apellidos en el acta constitutiva y el nombre de la propia marca de la unidad vactor -García & Mallitz K-SAUGER GMI25- son un recordatorio constante de que la sangre y los negocios suelen correr por el mismo drenaje. Lo que resulta más cuestionable es la mecánica de la asignación. Al tratarse de una marca propia, la licitación parece haber sido un traje a la medida. Al exigir un equipo García Mallitz, el ayuntamiento cierra la puerta a la competencia, argumentando una "exclusividad" que, en la práctica, anula cualquier posibilidad de ahorro para las arcas municipales. ¿Realmente no había en el mercado opciones más económicas y con la misma capacidad de desazolve? El mercado dice que sí; la voluntad política de Cárdenas dijo que no. Este episodio deja un sabor amargo en una administración que presume de austeridad y transparencia. No se trata solo de comprar un camión para limpiar el alcantarillado; se trata de limpiar las prácticas donde el influyentismo parece ser el mejor aceite para los engranajes de la administración pública. Si bien el papel aguanta la legalidad del contrato, el juicio ciudadano difícilmente aceptará que la "manga ancha" para los amigos del sexenio pasado siga siendo la norma en los municipios de la Cuarta Transformación, pues el 28 de diciembre de 2024, la misma empresa García & Mallitz ganó el contrato No. 5627A021-001-24 para la compra de otro vactor un monto de $10 millones 382 mil pesos; es decir por los dos camiones de desazolve Cárdenas erogó la suma de $22 millones 910 mil pesos. Al final, el chiste se cuenta solo: para desazolvar el drenaje de Cárdenas, se necesitó una "palanca" muy bien aceitada.

Today, the @EU_CoR #SEDEC commission debated the draft opinion on the protection of children and youngsters in the digital sphere. @EA_CoR member Karolien Grosemans stressed the need for child-friendly safety-by-design but renounced a full ban on social media. "Social media are part of our lives, so banning them will never work. We need to learn our children to deal with them in a safe and healthy way. But for some platforms we should perhaps go further. TikTok, for example, provides educative content in China but overwhelms European children with braindead videos without any educative value. Do we really want to allow our children to be targeted by an algorithm designed so that they learn nothing at all?"
