The funny thing is that most $XMR holders haven't explored who $QUBIC creator CFB is
If you are an $XMR holder I recommend digging deeper on him

One of the lead developers on BitMonero was called thankful_for_today
It is also very likely that CFB was thankful_for_today

1. #SelfishMining but with self-imposed reorg limit of 28 blocks.
2. Inclusion of all transactions, i.e. every transaction is included into the both branches.

Answering to my colleagues from #Monero on IRC:
1. No, orphaning all #Qubic blocks won't affect miners' revenue. And by the way, that was my suggestion how to counteract #SelfishMining.
2. No, I won't do a desperate move like mining empty blocks, it's the Quorum which decides what to do and it voted for maximizing $XMR income so we are including all transactions with fees.
3. No, I don't do $QUBIC buybacks at my discretion, the community voted how it must be done and we follow their plan.
@maverickforth @saber0z 1000-block piechart doesn't show the correct picture because #Qubic's mining marathons last just 24 hours. And during these 24 hours we don't have #SelfishMining activated all the time.
@MisterMonero It was proven that #SelfishMining cannot be stopped without sacrificing decentralization. Among these options:
- devs lack expertise
- devs want Monero to be centralized
- devs run own pools
I chose the most harmless.
Who is more optimistic?
The #Monero team trying to find a solution to #SelfishMining instead of adopting Proof-of-Stake or a schoolgirl using slimming cream on the 9th month of pregnancy?
At this point it's clear that #Monero's Detective Mining protection doesn't work against #SelfishMining.
The next bet is on Checkpointing and #Qubic is already working on a counter-measure. Its core idea is releasing secretly mined blocks in a way that the both branches are of the same length -- and then releasing the last blocks when the public branch comes close to the private one. Network latency is on #Qubic's side here.
Will this work? Let's see in September...
#Qubic team isn't familiar with #Monero codebase so, to be able to use #SelfishMining, we disable all connections. This leads to inability to receive new transactions and, as the result, all blocks after the very first one become empty. If Monero devs pointed to a line in the code allowing to prevent blocks from leaking instead of disconnecting from the network completely that would be great.
