The belief that synthetic means dangerous and “natural” means safe may be one of the most successful scientific misconceptions of the modern era.
We have spent decades being told to fear the origin of a chemical instead of understanding its dose, exposure and risk.
When the banks needed help, they called it “stabilizing the economy.”
When airlines needed help, they called it “protecting jobs.”
When corporations got tax breaks, they called it “pro-growth.”
When working people need health care? “SOCIALISM.”

Listen carefully to some modern health contrarians and echoes of Pfeiffer aren’t difficult to hear:
Strengthen the immune system.
Improve metabolic health.
Eat real food.
Get sunlight.
Exercise.
Sleep.
Let children encounter microbes.
Much of that is perfectly reasonable health advice.
The problem comes with the next leap:
Therefore vaccines are unnecessary.
Therefore infection is beneficial.
Therefore childhood diseases are immune-system “training.”
Therefore modern sanitation has weakened us.
Therefore sufficiently healthy people have little to fear from infectious disease.
We’ve crossed from physiology into ideology.
Someone explain to me why millions of people who never trusted the government with anything, and thought everything the government said was a lie, completely and immediately trusted the government when they told them that Covid19 was mild, and provided zero evidence to prove it.
It makes no sense.
One of the most successful deceptions of our time was getting many Christians to fear diversity more than racism, equality more than misogyny, democracy more than fascism, immigrants more than authoritarians, the poor more than corrupt billionaires and empathy more than cruelty.
Everything is true except the words
The strongest move?
Guard language.
Control over words is control over minds.
Speak clearly, resist distortion.

When Trump faces sentencing, he'll be asked if he has remorse, he'll respond: "Remorse for what, I did nothing wrong." Because he needs to follow the playbook.
