London’s main stock markets finished Wednesday in positive territory, with strength in property and housebuilding stocks helping offset weakness across the mining sector as commodity prices retreated. The FTSE 100 gained 32.78 points, or 0.3%, to close at 10,461.63, recovering from a softer start to the session. Real estate and construction-related shares led the advance as investors responded positively to easing bond yields and hopes of a more supportive interest rate environment. The more domestically focused FTSE 250 outperformed, rising 175.05 points, or 0.8%, to finish at 23,101.52.
