I suggest the short story of the fiery deaths was unknown except to this specific storyteller. It was likely seen as being more exciting than simply "dying". And Moses' reaction, warning his brother and nephews not to mourn made it more "interesting". 5/6 #Shemini #EBAMeme

The story of Avihu/Nadav being killed starts with them bringing an unneeded fire to burn the sacrifice. The burning was finished. Apologists say that this story (10:1-7) takes place between verses 9:23-24. Ignoring the lack of the audience's reaction! 3/6 #Shemini #EBAMeme
