Stories & World building 🌍 A 🧵 - After major #soane24 FOMO and reading through some of the tweets and previous articles from @michaeldoron in HA/blogs, I decided to trial some of the strategies with year 9.
@fatherofpod That is 'the' question and was much debated (as ever) at #Soane24. If you've got an SLT that doesn't really get knowledge (or *thinks* they get knowledge, but because they don't get subjects, they think it's just information), that wants cog sci/ev-based pedagogy, but treats...
These principles from @PaulaLoboWorth for story choosing, positioning, shaping & writing is ace. She captures the distinctive curricular function of stories in history, espec way echoes of other stories need to work their indirect magic in making the new one land. #Soane24

Following on from #Soane24 yesterday, I am re-reading River Kings this morning.
Cat Jarman does such a superb job of writing these vignettes at the beginning of her chapters. Capturing both history and the act of being a historian. This is a great model for our classrooms.
That was an incredible conference. Huge thank you to @michaeldoron for having the idea and for making it happen. The innovative thinking and level of discussion were sky high all day. 👏👏👏 150 attendees this year, 250 next year??? #Soane24
