ICYMI: Off the back of the #SplitUpInCare documentary, the separation of siblings by the UK care system was discussed in House of Commons yesterday by @EmmaLewellBuck
But the most important people to thank and acknowledge are really not any of us but the people who trusted us with the stories of their lives and experiences.
Without them, this documentary would not have been possible to make. I never take this for granted.

One of my favourite photos I took of film editor @GerardGroves.
He, @BlancaMuMar and myself locked ourselves in an edit suite for a few weeks.
We argued, discussed, cried and laughed throughout deciding the direction and cuts to make #SplitUpInCare the very best it could be.
Some other camera operators we used was Martin McQuade and @BrandTheBroken (who also took the publicity stills). Thank you to everyone else who filmed too.

The Sheep you saw in that sequence in Fife is called Murphy. We love animals in the documentary. (You might also have noticed a dog in Debbie’s house in Essex).

We all tend to eat fast and dirty on shoots. It’s the nature of film making which is wonderful but often very unglamorous. This was a quick lunch at a small service station on our way to Scotland.
A 6 fish finger baguette+chips.

I watched @AshleyJBaptiste ‘s documentary, it was moving & powerful. It reminded me of the stories we heard @emz_davidson when we interviewed young people who grew up in care, some with but many without their siblings. The care system must change! #SplitUpInCare #youthresearch
