🚨𝐍𝐨 𝐍𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐨𝐥 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐤𝐨𝐮𝐛𝐚 𝐚𝐬 #𝐌𝐞𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐢𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐦��𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠‼️ Ningol Chakouba, also known as Hiyangei Nini Paanba, is a traditional festival of the #Meitei community, is celebrated every year on the second lunar day of the Hiyangei month in the Meitei calendar. The married ladies (Ningols) are invited to their paternal families for a feast (Chakouba) to be had together with their brothers and other family members. After the feast, they are given gifts by their brothers, father, uncles, or any other family members But, a family / Shagei normally don’t celebrate it, when they are mourning for the loss of their family members. Manipur has been burning 🔥 due to Kuki engineered violence since 3rd May, 2023. There have been loss of many precious lives, properties/ houses damaged, thousands have been internally displaced and put in the relief camps. This year #NingolChakouba will not be celebrated as the #Meitei community has been mourning.
