Thanks @jed_dwight for doing a cracking job as local #stonecot councillor in opposing the LTN road closures which have been implemented so poorly at a local level by #sutton council. Low traffic good - grinding Sutton to a halt clearly very bad
1/5 Thank you Juliet & all of those who have been in-touch following last nights meeting.
Regrettably - but not surprisingly - the LDs totally disregarded the road closure petitions, & the thousands of residents who signed them, unanimously voting to steam ahead with their plans
2/5 In contrast, I was proud to speak up for #Stonecot residents like Juliet, & thousands of others over the complete lack of communication & consultation, dismissive approach to safety & lack of empathy by Lib Dem Councillors over the chaos these road closures have created.

Thanks to @MPSSutton who were on the scene with LAS & Air Ambulance following the collision involving two vehicles.
A woman has sadly passed away.

@MPSSutton 2/2 - We are working to determine whether deceased was a passenger or a pedestrian.
One vehicle did not stop at scene; enquiries to locate it ongoing. No arrests.

This weekend myself, @NandhaParam & @RyanCStoneman have written to #Stonecot residents passing on our heartfelt condolences following the death of Kyle Kelson, & offering to set-up a virtual meeting with @scullyp & @MPSSutton to seek reassurances.
