There is a misconception that when you charge an EV on a public charger you need to get 100% battery charge.
Yesterday I was going to get home with 3% battery. I charged on a public charger for 7 minutes and added 56 miles which was more than enough to get home.
Sometimes you need a full charge but more often than not you only need a top up
