Unique trial, unique data: baseline blood and urine metal levels in #TACT2: blood lead levels were ~ to those in a contemporaneous NHANES subset, but >40% lower compared to the NHANES subset contemporaneous to #TACT -- Blood lead continues to decline in the USA👇

After 7 years, #TACT2 results come to light #ACC24: 🙏 Rigorous scientist @GLamasMD 🟢 Repeated EDTA chelation drops blood Pb ~60% 🟠 HR primary endpoint 🟰 0.93 (0.76, 1.16) ❓ Why #TACT & #TACT2 so different? 🎯 Moving target?? NHANES sheds light? 👇

I challenge all of you at #ACC24 or checking in from afar to delver a bit deeper than looking at a photo of the primary outcome slide on X. We did! @TCTMD has coverage of #DANGER #SMART #TACT2 , #REDUCEAMI, #ULTIMATEDAPT and more on https://t.co/YD5PY8sQiM.

@SergioPinski @drjohnm @ElenaSgarbossa Results were a surprise when we were unblinded. That is why you do clinical trials. The greybeards of the era did not participate, but did not obstruct. Elena and other young investigators pushed for the trial. Shades of #OAT and #TACT and #TACT2 . Thank you Elena and Sergio.

Ironing a wrinkled literature to understand the potential benefits of metal chelation. Systematic reviews always painful but so insightful to guide science and clinical practice - while waiting for #TACT2
