Don’t lose your personal allowance.
Your personal allowance of £12,570 is reduced by £1 for every £2 of income between £100,000 and £125,140. You may be able to make a pension contribution or a charitable gift to bring your income below £100,000.

Plan your capital gains to make best use of any capital losses.
If you realise capital gains and losses in the same tax year, the losses are offset against the gains before the CGT exempt amount is deducted.

Did you know you can cut your IHT rate by leaving gifts to charity in your will?
By writing your will so that at least 10% of your net estate is left to charities, the IHT on the remainder of your taxable estate will be charged at 36% instead of 40%.
