Purposely used AAC to communicate a want. This is what it’s all about — meaningful, intentional communication. Giving access, modeling consistently. Using TD Snap by Tobii Dynavox to support communication and autonomy. #AAC #TDSnap #TobiiDynavox #AugmentativeCommunication

He loves animals. So that’s the theme. I modelled saying “I like…” and he watched me so carefully. Then it happened — a real conversation using AAC, navigating and operating the talker straight away, Amazingly clever boy! 💙 #AAC #TDSnap

This boy is super excited! For me to model communication with this boy, we needed two — because he quite rightly wanted full ownership of his own device. Having his own voice, his own space… that’s powerful. #AAC #TDSnap #CallScotland

Non-verbal child starting to independently request food using AAC 🙌 He’s focused, motivated, and already navigating TD Snap with filtered vocab. Such a great start for this clever boy — communication is opening up! 💬✨ #AAC #TDsnap #AugmentativeCommunication #SpeechTherapy

I loved this idea a student's mum put on her device; various fun ways to say goodbye. I added them to my TD Snap and also used the 'script' action to have them pop out in a list. #AugComm #AAC #TDSnap

Brushing up on my #AAC #TDsnap editing skills to personalise this high-tech aid for my client 🗣️- probably going to get a stern telling off for even considering adding Man City… but hey! It will be a great conversation (or argument) starter😂 #mySLTday @AceCentre #AOS

It can help to break down the daily timetable. Some ways I've found useful: • Clipboard with storage: Velcro on back for removable board. Boards & symbols stored inside. • #TDSnap First/Then & Mini Schedule supports on iPads. • First/Then, Mini Schedules on class board. #AAC

Lots of students love Old MacDonald. Here are some ways I've used it recently. • Tactile visuals • Dice w/ animal symbols • Chat board by @CALLScotland • Farm visual scene on Boardmaker • Voice Smileys in #TDSnap • Real sounds • TD Snap on iPads/ class boards • Makaton

"I didn't know they could do that" - love hearing this from staff & families. Student has iPad with #TDSnap & uses a mix of symbols & typing. At times direct touch access seems a lot of effort. We had a TD Pilot on loan. As soon as he sat in front of it, he began browsing. 1/3

Animal sounds & Old MacDonald came up a lot last week. - We used symbols & communication boards - Students told me with eye gaze which sounds to make. - One student is really enjoying telling us to include people's names in song so instructed us with #TDSnap. 1/2 #AAC #AugComm

Peppa Pig on Pageset Central. I'm actually not a fan of Peppa but lots of students are. It has characters, button with theme tune & button with phrase 'jumping up & down in muddy puddles.' I made this before the #TDSnap update, the new image web search will be very useful!

I was chatting with a student when one of her classmates was being funny and silly. We couldn't find 'silly' on our devices so it was the perfect opportunity to show different ways to search for a word. We searched, spelled and explored some new words. #AugComm #AAC #TDSnap

Easy pretend snow. Had instructions but just poured bicarb of soda into tray, added conditioner, mixed with hands & spoons til it looked like snow. Cold & smelled lovely. A student didn't want to touch it so was in charge of telling us to add more. Used #TDSnap to talk about it.
