On Saturday night, a road bridge over railroad tracks collapsed in the Russian province of Bryansk as a truck was crossing it .
A passenger train was passing underneath it at the same time. Debris from the bridge fell on the train, causing it to derail. The governor of the province, Alexander Bogomaz, reported that the bridge had been blown up.
At least seven people died as a result of the attack, while 47 more, including three children, were hospitalised.
However, the Ministry of Emergency Situations warned that the death toll could still rise, as rescue operations are still ongoing.
That same night, a railway bridge collapsed in the Kursk region of Russia as a freight train was passing. A section of the railway fell onto the road beneath the bridge.
One of the train drivers was injured in the legs , and the entire railway crew was taken to a hospital and is now under medical supervision.
