A Senate committee on protection of the monarchy has demanded that Natthaphong Ruengpanyawut and Piyabutr Saengkanokkul take responsibility for comments seen as overstepping toward the Privy Council and the monarchy. The committee accused the People's Party of spreading narratives that could undermine public confidence in royal institutions, particularly through references to a so-called “blue regime” allegedly dominating Thai politics. Pol Lt Gen Yuthana Thaipakdee and Pol Maj Gen Chatwat Saengphet argued that the remarks and criticism of the Privy Council’s role in meetings with disaster officials could be interpreted as indirectly targeting the monarchy and might even risk violating Article 112. The committee also warned that repeated actions by party leaders could affect the ongoing Supreme Court case involving 44 MPs linked to previous efforts to amend the lèse-majesté law. #Thailand
