The religious right, as well-meaning as they may be, will resort to force and coercion. As our rights are confiscated, we’ll be told it’s for #TheCommonGood.
@VaticanNews The terrors that are going to be promulgated under the banner of “#TheCommonGood™️” are going to be heartbreaking.
Make no mistake: “the common good”’is a Catholic social Marxism movement that is as insidious as any truly effective social engineering endeavor has to be.

Year 3 had a fantastic day analysing, planning and creating pulley systems to meet our design brief. We created pulley systems that would safely and efficiently lift and lower a window cleaner up and down a tall building. #Participation #thecommongood #calltowork

Ethics. Morals. Values. Only a feckless fool would deny the importance to #TheCommonGood of ethics, morals, and values.
The brilliantly extensive and intensive #EthicsPolicy of @nytimes prioritizes reporting news "impartially, without fear or favor.” The dutifully detailed document (via link below) offers concise guidelines for everyone outside #TheNewYorkTimes to consider and adapt—for nearly any frame of responsible thinking or field of endeavor.
#TheTimes is a great starting point to explore roles of ethics in journalism and far beyond. Countless other more voluminous studies and resources scholars consult and adjust as needed.
Even @ChatGPTapp, via #NOVA, reports:
“The New York Times is often recognized for having one of the most extensive and comprehensive ethics policies among US newspapers in terms of both quality and quantity.
Their ethics guidelines, known as the "Ethical Journalism Handbook," cover a wide range of topics including impartiality, conflicts of interest, fairness, and integrity.
This policy is detailed and regularly updated to address new and emerging issues in journalism.
@washingtonpost and @WSJ also have robust ethics policies, but The New York Times is frequently highlighted for its depth and thoroughness in this area.”
With #HigherOrderThinking’s well-thought-through #ScottishPresbyterian philosophical reasonings—n.b., perhaps more than “reformed-and-always reforming” #Presbyterianism’s spiritual tenets—I learned from early childhood to humbly do my imperfect best “for the good of the order.”
@Rotary’s “Is it fair to all concerned?” ritualistic question I embraced, at age 16, when I was a guest speaker, representing @JA_USA, at @DuquesneClub in @Pittsburgh. I’ll never forget hearing the group of top-most #SteelCity executives say out loud that question, in stentorian unison, as if in a worship service. They were worshiping ethics.
Why was I forever altered by that moment in 1966? As a teen, I was stunned to think the question needed to be asked.
At that coming-of-age stage, naïvely I believed everyone in business automatically would be fair. How forgivably wrong, wrong, wrong I was.
Earlier in my childhood—knowingly since age three, quite remarkably—@FirstPresbyPGH, @ligoniercamp, @thecubscouts, @DeMolay, @JAWorldwide, and @WQED’s #MisterRogers greatly influenced my learning layers about ethics, morals, and values—which now I knowingly use as early-life underpinnings for @EnclaveAcademy’s exploration of #CognitiveEthics (i.e., the “ethics of thinking” that mandate volitional use of #metacognition).
Does your organization have an #EthicsHandbook, an ethics administrator, an ethics ombudsman, or other means for establishing and ensuring ethical conduct?
#Election2024 has ethicists on highest alert. Are you?
Cognitively essential free thinking will occasionally form unethical thoughts. Beyond holy books, it’s wise to have at hand flashcards, checklists, posters, manuals, handbooks, and other tools for you and other people to use to help to attain and sustain ethical behavior.
No “cheat sheets” per se, of course. One mustn’t. —JRDjr

#EntrepreneurialThinking can reinvigorate centuries-old enterprises. For startups to old institutions, as long as money is subordinated as a cognitive motivator—and purposefulness and #TheCommonGood are prioritized—#entrepreneurialism is to be cultivated, nurtured, and supported.
Routinely check in with job-creating, value-generating, and difference-making #entrepreneurs in your circle. Candid—confidentially assured—#CognitiveWellness chats should help you both think clearer about destabilizing uncertainties, ambiguities, and threats of #entrepreneurship.

The Presidential election hasn't changed the most important thing: that the Government is the only means to make decisions collectively, for the common good--regardless of which side you're on. That's been true for 300 years, here and everywhere. #TheBigPicture #TheCommonGood

Honoured to have convened yesterday's historic dialogue on #TheCommonGood at the Vatican through @PontAcadLife.
Pope Francis's (@Pontifex) message (delivered by @PagliaAbp) emphasised the common good as practice built on fraternal acceptance & collective pursuit of justice. @miaamormottley's powerful call to reform our global financial architecture—to create fiscal space for climate action to mitigate the “summer of superlatives”—shows why we need transformative economic thinking.
