What is enough?
Forgive new Ts who graduated in 2020 & 2021 of this requirement. Let them work in peace.
Reevaluate #TheMPT - what is it’s goal? could it meet its goal? is it meeting that goal?is it necessary? how else can we meet this goal? should we pay for it?
No more extensions.
Excuse the BEd classes of 2020 and 2021 from this new requirement of #TheMPT.
New teachers are required to fill the teacher shortage, so grant them the mercy to let them work.
@fordnation & @Sflecce support new teachers- let us work.
@ONeducation If you care about math education, and about equitable, and supporting people to be successful in their workforce - why have #TheMPT ?
This is how math needs to be taught.
#TheMPT does not support that - it encourages new teachers to be fearful of math, and the idea of cramming a subject as ‘learning’
#CancelTheMPT because the MPT does not follow the pedagogy it tests new Ts on.
The new Grade 9 De-streamed math curriculum begins with this. I hope that all our students see this beauty as they learn ...
@krushowy The contract @eqao has for proctoring and hosting #TheMPT expires August 13th- is this being extended as well?
Without continued testing this extension is meaningless and only serves to ignore the legal fight against this bigoted test.
Just #CancelTheMPT - no more extensions.
@Ellie1469 @krushowy That’s how it started. There have been more time slots rolled out, and now there are even in-person ones. This extension happened shortly after a hearing day was chosen for the legal battle against #TheMPT .

@Sflecce @samoosterhoff You and your government added #TheMPT knowing it is discriminatory against bachelor of education students. The education budget has also been slashed.
With these actions, how are you breaking down barriers? It seems like you’re adding more.

I will be taking the #MathProficiencyTest in a little under two weeks. Pass or fail, I will still demand that #TheMPT gets cancelled. #CancelTheMPT isn’t about any singular persons results, it has to do with @fordnation & @Sflecce breaching the Charter. 🍎🍏
- #CancelTheMPT -
@fordnation & @Sflecce are spending tax payer $ to breech our Charter to discriminate against new grads with the goal of hurting public #onted , & knowing the #MPT does harm but looks good to outsiders.
They’re using @eqao & #TheMPT to trick people.
@angryartgal @cm93967811 @oectagovernor @Edu_CamerON I have also been blocked by him because I’ve asked important questions about #TheMPT as well.
How can @eqao release a paper saying the #MPT is discriminatory and just looks good without doing good, then hide the paper and go forward with testing?
I just want his answer. 🤷🏻♀️

@eqao All the information I need about #TheMPT is from your paper - “Literature Review of the Empirical Evidence on the Connection Between Compulsory Teacher Competency Testing and Student Outcomes” it supports the need to #CancelTheMPT
Why #CancelTheMPT ?
There are so many reasons - but the biggest one is that it violates our Charter. We have to say #NoMPT because it will hurt the diversity of teachers.
@Sflecce, @fordnation, & @ONeducation breach our Charter with #TheMPT / O.Reg 271/19.
My weekend so far:
Booked my vaccine (yay), bat got into apartment, got blocked on twitter by the head of EQAO for asking questions about #TheMPT, and now there is another bat in my apartment. 🦇
