#theotherside #thinkinghack #changingperspective My fitness ritual these days, is around walking a few rounds around my building complex. I usually tend to walk the same way-clockwise after I step out, and take the same number of rounds. I virtually seem to be on auto pilot, that having nothing to do with rickshaws with buccaneering ambitions on the road. Today, I forced myself to go anti clockwise. It was the same route, but looking at the same things from a different angle, presented a quite different picture. Everything that I had come to see as a blind spot, now looked new and intriguing. The people who I walked in the same direction with, I now saw face to face. The trees and benches had a different side of theirs to show. It really got me thinking about how we get so set in our routine and rituals. So much so, an unseen layer of cement gets built around them. And, by extension, our thinking. We are usually habituated looking at things one way. Sometimes all it takes, is to approach the same issue from a slightly different perspective, and a whole new picture presents itself. The real problems become apparent, and newer ideas almost automatically make an appearance. The unseen, shrugs off it's 'cloak of invisibility' and reveals itself. Try something different in even the most mundane of things you might be doing, even if out of curiosity. It can truly help you walk a different path.
