#tryouttips Run or Jog at ALL times. Unless you're injured there is no reason to walk to a position, to a drill, or to pick up balls. Worried you'll look odd if everyone else is walking? You can always walk up to the park to grab a seat to watch the team play I guess.
#tryouttips If there is a shagging balls portion of the tryout where there is live hitting. That might the one of the most important moments in the entire tryout. Personally I love doing it to watch the guys in the field. How they shag will tell you so much about a player.
#tryouttips Look the coaches in the eyes when they speak to you. I understand that this can be hard. Personally I prefer to listen with my eyes closed or looking down. But coaches will notice if you look at them while they're speaking.
#tryouttips Root for yourself and others to succeed not for others to fail. Often coaches can tell when you're happy another guy booted a ball. Don't be that guy. It's ok to give props or a cheer when a guy makes a great play. In fact I would think it's encouraged.
#tryouttips These things I'm recommending for approaching tryouts are actually no different for all practices. Which is why coaches look at these things. If you're going to be a knucklehead at tryouts, there's a 100% chance you're a knuckle head in practice.
#tryouttips If you boot a ball, don't make a big show about being mad you missed it. The way you handle missing it is likely more important than whether you actually make the play or not. Other things not to do: Look at the glove like a black hole opened up in it. Make an excuse
