Wow! Topher and I just got back from 4 glorious days in #TwoHarbors, #CatalinaIsland, California. Two Harbors is on the isthmus of the island, where one can see both sides of the Pacific Ocean. Two Harbors is literally classified as a, "Village," having only 150 full-time human residents. We did see the biggest fish of my life; the endangered Giant Black Sea Bass. He was the size of a dolphin (which we saw too). We were lucky to see him twice. We also saw the illusive Island Fox a few times, they are an endemic species, only found on the channel islands. We also saw one bison, multiple sunrises and sunsets and I played frisbee golf for the first time. We hiked many miles (one day we hiked 14 miles, 91 floors!) and we found and hid some geocaches along the way. We found ourselves talking to a mule deer and saw a few Garibaldi fish (California's state ocean fish).
We stayed at the Banning House, which was lovely. We enjoyed the vegan options at breakfast and our balcony was great!
I always have a good time at Catalina. We have made this an post HHN tradition that we go to Catalina. Gives us something to look forward to during the run and it did not disappoint. Topher and I got to spend some quality time together and I am so thankful for that.
