She didn’t attend the flag raising of the 🇮🇱 flag because it was “divisive”. If she’s being consistent, she’ll be absent on Nov. 17 for the same reasons.
If she attends the 🇵🇸 flag raising, she will confirm her objection has never been about ‘division’ but her opposition to the Jewish state.
It will send a clear message to the 100,000 Jews that call #Toronto home, once and for all, that she is not a mayor for all Torontonians but a mayor for some and her city does not include them.
I don’t agree with the approach—far from it, I believe it to be immensely cowardly and a dereliction of leadership & her duty as mayor—but I hope she remains intellectually consistent with her alleged principle of avoiding “division”.
