#UberStory Sometimes, I forgot how many people in Silicon Valley hate Trump and Elon Musk. Today, my passengers, a couple, reminded me of that. The husband, a white dude: “I heard Trump and Musk are not getting along. “ The wife, a Chinese: “great!I hope they kill each other. ” And they did not mind me hearing it. Other than that, they were nice and gave $3 tip.

#UberStory I had no idea that Gen AI Summit Silicon Valley is going on at Santa Clara Convention Center. With Uber driving, I got to know this. My passenger is attending the conference. We naturally talked about AI and FSD. The entire ride was on FSD. V12.5.4.1 did a good job except it did not keep lane very well on the ramp from San Tomas to 101. Overall, I would give it 9/10. The passenger, although in high tech field, evidently does not know much about Tesla FSD. We discussed many details. There is indeed a giant information gap.

#UberStory Over the last several years, China-US relationship has been worsening. One of the consequences is that Chinese students are struggling to find jobs, particularly in high tech field. This passenger is a Chinese student studying for his Master degree in UIUC. He has been doing a six month internship with NVIDIA since June. When I compliment him that NVIDIA internship will help him a lot in finding full time job, he told me he is not optimistic about the future. He said it is very hard for Chinese students to find job in USA. And he also shared his concern about the ongoing election. Evidently, foreign students are not very happy about Trump.

#UberStory There are some $tsla investors who gained significant wealth, but do not own Tesla cars. I met one today. This passenger is a young white dude, working at Applied Materials. He claimed that he and his dad invested in $tsla since 2010. When I commented “your investment must have gone up like 50 times. “ , he said “try 100 times”. But this guy does not own any Tesla cars, and he said he plans to buy one EV 5 years later when the battery tech becomes more mature. “Come on! Sell some shares and buy some Tesla cars. Let’s support Elon. “ that is what I said to him. This is unbelievable to me. Does not make much sense.
