The Federal Reserve also buys and sells stocks to change the money supply. When the Federal Reserve wants to add money to the market they buy bonds and when they want to decrease the money supply they sell bonds. @LuiggiDonayre @econ_ta #umdecon

The income distribution has in general continued to increase since 1974. This makes the gap between the upper and lower class keep getting bigger. The rich keep getting richer and the poorer keep getting poorer.@LuiggiDonayre @econ_ta #UMDecon

Inflation is very high right now. Sellers are trying to make it seem like their products didn't raise in price that much so companies are reducing the amount you get in a package. This tactic makes it seem like inflation isn't as bad as it is. @LuiggiDonayre @econ_ta #umdECON

I worked at Target this past summer and there was a HUGE baby formula shortage due to a huge production facility that had to shut down. The demand is high when essentials are in short supply! We had to limit the amount to purchase so everyone wouldn't stock up. #EconUMD @econ_ta
