@Beth_Tastic Where do I start.. making him go to the loo when he grunted ( tic) then told him off for going too often. Making him write with a pencil ( yellow n black) instead of his choice yellow n black. Missing breaks as his writing was too big, even though he him got 15/15 spellings. 1/2

My take, is that NO they are NOT allowed to be themselves. They are forced into the existing system and expected to fit in, often being punished for being their authentic selves.
Ultimately our #SEND children end up #masking to active inclusion, their #Anxiety levels increase to the point that they feel unable to access #education, as their #MentalHealth hits crisis point, hence the start of #EBSA
We are nowhere near #inclusion, we exclude more than we include, as we don’t listen or believe the child or their parents enough about what’s happening or needed for them to thrive.
The system pushes everyone to breaking point! 💔💔 #ThinkingDifferently
All children need to feel safe and happy at school. #EBSA usually starts with #UnmetNeeds
