Churches cannot rise above inconsistent corporate #prayer. Along with devaluing God's Word & eschewing faithful expositional preaching & teaching of Scripture, the inconsistent prayer-less church will die. Fellow #undershepherds let's lead our churches to pray! #pastors #pray

Amen @etoddfisher. I like what one of the best expositors in the #SBC @macbrunson oft reminds #undershepherds of that we are called "not to a platform but a pulpit." If we just remain humble & preach the Word, the Spirit will do the rest. @OKBaptists & @GreatComBaptist @SBCCP.

The Rise & Fall of Mars Hill podcast is a fascinating look into the danger of church leaders whose giftedness surpasses their character/maturity & when their followers prioritize loyalty over truth. Also good insight on hist. of American evangelicalism in last half of 20th cent.

Preached a complex pericope, Heb2:5-18. Bit off more than I can chew! 😄 IMO, the unit situates around ἀρχηγὸν (pioneer) & τελειῶσαι (to perfect). Lesson: Without Jesus pioneering our faith there's no conversion & no perfection via sanctification. #preaching #undershepherds

I know allowing #Logos to do heavy language study is commonplace, but I challenge my fellow #undershepherds to do your own translating. My #textdriven @Swbts profs @StevenWSmith @DrDavidLAllen taught me well. Here's my structural exegesis of Hebrews 1:1-4. #TheNecessaryWork

IMHO this mindset creates “celebrity pastors” unless Christ is the leader. This is how we lose missional focus and substitute activity that builds earthly empires. Pastors are #Undershepherds
