#museum30 day 16 #uniqueobject - our wonderful ice yacht - it’s massive & a real gem of construction #makeitstalham #reopeningmarch2023

After proofing 6 pages of “Paradiso,” finding an unfixable mistake, starting a remake page, & screwing it up, I took another tack. For an old friend, I hand-colored a copy of the “Inferno” Prospectus. Then I went a little over the top on the portfolio. #dante #uniqueobject

Habibu Omary of #KilwaKisiwani has #donated this #uniqueobject he ‘fished’ from #KilwaBay 10ya to Kilwa #sitemuseum supported by @univofstandrews @EJDPollard @dickybates2 @IchumbakiE @fearandsequins @NautArchSoc @Archaeo_UDSM

#Museum30 Catch-up 17 (yes, I'm persisting with this!): #uniqueobject. This #hacksilver piece from the #Cuerdale #Viking #Hoard puzzles me. It's an #armring with a #brooch pin attached to it. Why? To make a #buckle? A brooch? To make a certain weight (225g)? Or just for laughs?

#uniqueobject, que en mi cabeza se metió como pieza preferida, la verdad es que creo que no la he visto en ninguna otra parte ¿ustedes conocen otra efigies “huéspedes”? @anahuacalli #museum30 📷: @roiz

Day 17 of #Museum30 :) This odd looking thing is a handmade musical instrument! It's made out of sweet tins, bottle caps, wires, tin lids and all sorts of other repurposed items, making it a very #uniqueobject😃We're told it was very tuneful in its day!

#Museum30 day 17 & 19 #Uniqueobject and #Space. Our #Juvet Time Globe is one of our beloved unique pieces. Made here in #Canajoharie in 1871 it is *probably* the only left of its size. It has an internal mechanism that moved the globe in time with the turning of the Earth.
#museum30 #Museums30 Day 17 was #UniqueObject - it was a tough one to pin down but after some needling we picked this : A tiny needle case with #WindsorCastle painted on it & in our #Exhibition #display for #Victoria200.

Just one #UniqueObject among many for Day 17 of the #Museum30 challenge; a piece of speaking tube from the infamous German raider, SMS Emden, finally caught by HMAS Sydney after crossing 30,000 miles of ocean during August-November 1914, sinking or capturing over 20 Allied ships.

We have many contenders for #UniqueObject but the most #onbrand at the moment is the set of replica uniforms made for the #MetWomen100 / #100YearsStrong service @wabbey last May, based on real examples in our collections! #Museum30

“...made from the first #Iron from the #Trent #Ironworks.”

#Museum30, Day 17 (a day late!): #UniqueObject. The #TrexDiscovreyCentre and @royalsaskmuseum has a mighty fine collection of fossil poop! Besides the world's only #Trex #coprolite, we also have coprolites from #mosasaurs and Cenozoic mammals. Coprolite happens in #Saskatchewan!

#museum30 #day17 catch-up time... so for #uniqueobject ...here's the @AshingtonGroup painting on display @Woodhorn that always makes me smile... #JazzBandParade by Jack Harrison! #colour #pattern #movement #parade #jazz #marchingbands #paint #painting #pitman #painter

Not totally but almost unique - purpose-made for removing moulding flash from remould tyres - once one of Knighton's biggest employers. #Museum30 #uniqueobject

@ReevesMuseum @VicMRogers @Swatchway @Jeeves_Reeves A mollusc or a baptismal shell? We present at the #Museum30 challenge this #UniqueObject that belongs to @MuseuArteSacra' s collection.
#Museum30 Day 17: So hard to choose a #uniqueobject as every object has a story but I've always had a soft spot for this guy. Read all about our investigations of this sculpture of #Horus dressed as #Roman emperor here:

One of 3 known examples of a dog skin buoy, this #uniqueobject was found hidden in a wall of a Melness home, alongside a boot and whisky bottle. Fishermen used homemade buoys' up until the early 20th century, taking 2-3 months to make they could last 10-15 years. #Museum30 #Day17

This model of the #Calais jungle camp by artist Habib (fellow @migratefulUK trustee) as part of our Room to Breathe exhibition. It sparked interest from many visitors, especially unaccompanied asylum seeker students who had also lived in the camp.

Today's #Museum30 is #UniqueObject. As far we we've been able to determine, our section of Skylab Payload Shroud is the only one remaining in a museum collection.
