What I found rather sad about the #planning process, is how unfairly tilted in developers favour it is. We get to present our case in 4 min bits, whereas they get the council planning machine to defend their plans, without opposition being able to respond. #UpperBrookStreet

Yet the case presented by the council on behalf of these big developers completely erased the serious concerns raised by residents & councillors. It sets a very worrying precedent on communities across this city. I’ll write further on this soon 2/2 #UpperBrookStreet #Ardwick

Tomorrow we go yet again to make what should be a clear case for why the proposals for #UpperBrookStreet should be refused at planning committee. After numerous consultations, including the councils own public consultation, the message from local people is clear.

At planning committee myself and @cabdiqafaar spoke to reject plans proposed for #UpperBrookStreet. We are pleased that the committee will be doing a site visit to clearly see the concerns raised by residents in Brunswick for themselves. #Ardwick #Planning

Tonight at 6pm we’re holding our second open meeting for residents about the #UpperBrookStreet Development at the #Brunswick community room on Brunswick st. Deadline for comments is Sep 3rd so it’s vital for residents who will be impacted to ensure their voice is heard.
