Road closed in #UpperDerwent (beyond #Ladybower). Believe @stwater have shut the road to all users, including walkers, on western side of Derwent res. & Howden Reservoirs from 12th (says for 3 months!) Also closed the bridleway down from Lockerbrook to 1/2 way along Derwent.

Our visitor centre at Derwent will be closed this Tuesday-Thursday (11-13 January) while we update our stock and refresh some of the artwork.
Car parking and the refreshment kiosk will still be open as usual.

@samsheepbolton @TimBirchWild I surveyed 1500km of the #UpperDerwent for a year in the 1980βs. The most important bird populations were found in the blanket bogs with their breeding waders and ungrazed deciduous woodland with species like Wood Warbler. Both habitats centuries old and never destroyed by fire.
