Thank you Kaneenika-ji for your insightful reflections from the Podcast.
@Sai_swaroopa
Just finished listening to this insightful conversation between @Sai_swaroopa and @SaamaanyaJ on the Vana Parva. Recommend it highly to people interested in a reading of the Mahabharata.

Loved many things in it, but appreciated some key points 1/
This Podcast with @Sai_swaroopa on #VanaParva has triggered a lot of possibilities in my mind.
SundaraKanda has occupied such an exclusive space in the Tradition. But there is a lot more from various texts that we can deep dive into.
Many pearls and gems to find. Many more garlands to make.
Replugging my Vanaparva conversation with @SaamaanyaJ of @IndicaOrg on their flagship Podcast #IKSChangemakers
So overwhelmed at the deep praise by some scholars that I rewatched it again.
This will be worth your holiday folks. Listen and let us know

#VanaParva of #Mahabharata holds so much of the Signature of our Civilisation.
How do we raise after a fall? How does Dharma help the restoration? How does a Catharsis happen most aesthetically?
How does a Civilization put its best foot forward in all Assurance?
#VanaParva holds every key and every answer.
Explore this Episode of the #IndicaOrg INDICA Podcast #IKSChangemakers Podcast where I speak to Mahabharata expert and Author @Sai_swaroopa Saiswaroopa Iyer.
#Dharma absolutely in Action.
#IKSChangemakers #Podcast #Episode 07:
Saiswaroopa Iyer @Sai_swaroopa speaks to Host Shivakumar @SaamaanyaJ
Exploring #VanaParva of #Mahabharata as a transformative journey
"Cathartic Paths of a Dense Forest"
The forest is dense with despair, resilience, and the search for meaning.
#Yudhisthira’s fall reveals human frailty — a plunge into doubt and vulnerability — yet offers slow, deliberate recovery. #Wisdom emerges through #reflection, #conversation, and quiet #resilience rooted in #Dharma.
Yudhisthira’s strength lies in facing mistakes without trauma. Supported by Brothers, Brahmanas, Rishis, and Draupadi — his equal and guardian — he finds purpose.
In Vana Parva, #philosophy and lyrical beauty intertwine. The forest offers #catharsis, guiding the #Pandavas' reflections into action. They confront weakness without blame.
Stripped of wealth, the Pandavas gain wisdom from Rishis, #Teerthas, and #Markandeya’s stories, dissolving sorrow and weaving #transcendence. The forest refines their Dharma, strengthens their spirit, and prepares them for the future.
Vana Parva mirrors the forest’s rhythm — a patient journey through crisis and renewed strength. Each step and act of resilience fuels transformation. Though they lose their palace, the Pandavas regain equilibrium and the assurance that Dharma sustains even in darkness. Every fall holds a rise; every despair, the seed of transcendence.
The conversation in 8 sections:
- The Beginning
- The Assurance
- The Catharsis
- The Coming Together
- The Transformation
- The Time, The Transcendence
- A Signature of the Civilization.

@Bharatashree @HegdeSreekar “And, that which should be known is the Parama Brahma, in which there is neither happiness nor misery and attaining that, beings are not affected with misery.”

Anybody can realise Brahman/Atman and become a Brahmana.
Brahmana is NOT by birth!

@hamsanandi @santalum_aurum @serioustaurean So on balance we can confirm that #satyavAn, husband of #sAvitri likely had #MyocardialInfarction (heart attack in layman terms)
Would be great to find out what treatment would have been given in those days or at least in ancient times (caraka-suSruta).
