โก PowerLoop: Full Self-Drive + Charge-While-Driving (Loop Upgrade)
EVs still have one big weakness:
they have to stop and wait to charge.
Even with fast chargers, charging breaks the flow of travel, creates range anxiety, and limits long-distance EV adoption. Full self-driving feels incomplete if the car still needs humans to plan charging stops.
So hereโs an upgrade idea for Loop tunnels:
PowerLoop โ a system that lets EVs charge wirelessly while driving inside Loop tunnels.
The concept is simple:
Inside the Loop tunnel ceiling, install dedicated rails (similar to how electric trains get power). On these rails move small, smart charging units. When an EV enters the Loop, one of these charging units aligns with the car and connects using a magnetic wireless charging pad (MagSafe-style, no hard cable locked to the vehicle).
As the car moves forward, the charging unit moves with it at the same speed, continuously charging the battery in real time.
If the car speeds up, slows down, or if alignment is lost, the charging unit safely detaches and automatically retracts back to the rail. No risk to vehicles behind.
Power is delivered safely through the ceiling rail system, and the charging unit regulates and converts it into clean, stable power for the EV. Everything is software-controlled and synchronized with full self-driving, creating a second safety layer inside the tunnel.
In simple terms:
You enter the Loop with low battery.
Your car drives itself.
You exit the Loop with more charge than you had before.
No stopping. No waiting. No range anxiety.
This turns Loop tunnels into more than transport.
They become moving charging infrastructure for EVs โ like a power grid you drive through.
