Some inspiration this morning to be a better editor, via @LewisPants #viewfromsomewhere #womendonews
"When I'm challenging that status quo as both a reporter and an activist, I'm challenging that system. I actually consider it a form of nonviolent resistance. It's like journalistic disobedience." @wenstephenson
cc #ViewFromSomewhere podcast/book, which also explores this well
We need more journalism of the possible. Help get the #ViewFromSomewhere over the finish line (they're so close!) and support these crucial conversations
As a black woman journalist, I'd never learned about pioneering reporter and union activist Marvel Cooke until this episode of #ViewfromSomewhere. Thanks @lewispants, @carlaMurphy and @dulcia25 for sharing her story.
@LewisPants and @ramonammartinez have only got $883 to raise to meet their goal by 9am tomorrow!
If you don’t know about #ViewFromSomewhere podcast about creating the journalism we need, please hear for yourself and then support if you can!

So glad I managed to support #ViewFromSomewhere in time for this campaign. I've learned so much from this work, and we were honored to host a conversation in Oakland not long ago. Go @LewisPants @ramonammartinez! https://t.co/6GWyG0vqJx
Lots of eager energy at today's first book club meeting to discuss #ViewFromSomewhere by @LewisPants!
I left with more questions to ponder, and I think that's a good thing. Excited to see what this emergent community will come up with...
hey @LewisPants & @ramonammartinez are y'all gonna do a #ViewFromSomewhere episode about climate journalism?? would love to hear it!!
Thanks for everything you do!!! seriously y'all are amazing.
The #ViewFromSomewhere podcast gives me so many important Qs: journalistic remove to cover climate crisis is part of problem, maybe denying our own humanity. What does a climate journo do w/ their existential dread?
Chip in to help them keep going!

Wow, lots of feelings about new #ViewFromSomewhere episode: being close to AIDS crisis was necessary to get the truth out.
Can't help but think about how we are all close to climate stories. Climate is not one story but the backdrop of everything.

Read. Listen. Learn. Act. #ViewFromSomewhere is changing the #journalism world. For years objectivity has been used to silence or as an excuse to not report on the stories that save lives. This work offers history lessons to move the field forward in the name of justice.
“Objectivity is the ideology of the status quo.” —@ramonammartinez on #viewfromsomewhere podcast with @LewisPants #PPPC19
