Howard was my English teacher about 15 years ago. We had lessons online for quite some time. Howard was a crucial person in my life. I learned English one-on-one initially in Second Life and then online. Howard and I never met in person. It seems crazy, but that's how it was. A few days ago, he found me on LinkedIn because we had lost touch and didn't have each other's contacts, and he told me he was in Bologna for a couple of weeks.
Today, we met for the first time in real life. It seems crazy, but we spent 3 hours chatting together like old friends, catching up on the last 15 years.
Howard's innovative vision of teaching 15 years ago definitely impacted my way of thinking. He was a virtual guiding spirit. At that time, he transformed a young doctor with horrible English slang into an expert speaker and innovation manager. I hope to see each other soon in the US or Europe. I can never be grateful enough to Howard for the role he played in my life. Have a safe journey home. See you next time somewhere around the world or online.

Howard è stato il mio insegnante di inglese circa 15 anni fa. Abbiamo fatto lezioni per un bel pò di tempo online. Howard è stata una persona fondamentale nelle mia vita. Ho imparato l'inglese one to one all'inizio in Second Life e poi online. Io è Howard non ci siamo mai conosciuti di persona. Sembra una follia ma è così. Qualche giorno fa mi ha trovato su Linkedin perchè ci eravamo persi di vista e non avevamo i nostri contatti e mi ha detto che era a Bologna per un paio di settimane. Oggi ci siamo incontrati per la prima volta nella vita reale. Sembra una follia ma abbiamo passato 3 ore chiacchierando insieme come vecchi amici e raccontadoci gli ultimi 15 anni.
La visione innovativa di come insegnare di Howard 15 anni fa hanno decisamente impattato sul mio modo di pensare. E' stato uno spirito guida virtuale. A quel tempo ha trasformato un giovane dottore con un orribile slang inglese in un esperto oratore e manager dell'innovazione. Spero di rivederci presto in US o in Europa. Non potrò mai essere grato abbastanza ad Howard per il ruolo nella mia vita. Buon ritorno a casa. Alla prossima da qualche parte in giro per il mondo oppure online.
