Independence.⁣ ⁣ The steps toward the natural and self-evident series of moments in which we emerge from a stage of growth - each a part we not only integrate into our whole but also become – is rarely pleasant. Growing pains. We all have them. Acceptance and understanding of these phases have been marked by rites and rituals across all people across all of humanity. A lack of this regard or an abuse of these with rites that oppose the natural rights also have emerged throughout our history and an attempt to rectify or repair such abuses have often, even when best intended, lead to horrific results and evils. The challenge we all face and must face in our own evolution into being capable of being independent persons and responsible for the preservation of our union, and how that union expands from finite into infinite is an essential quality of the human condition, as well as an essential quality of the opposition within the human condition.⁣ ⁣ We each possess the birthright to repeat the Genesis story both personally and suprapersonally. I would hope that my birthright as a woman offers me a way of seeing the way this story unfolds, emerges and embodies the Union of a part as not apart from the whole, uniquely. But also, with regard to the feminine mystique, I hope, I can honor others who shared a similar moment at similar times.⁣ ⁣ The threat, as I see it, lies within the lack of awareness that our soft technology, particularly when vulnerable and open to a repetition of a mechanized way of how humans relates to the world, is akin to what makes Chinese water torture so cruel. Mechanizing that which has an innate soul - in order to turn the animate into inanimate thereby forcing the acceptance of a new reality, destroying solitude by replacing it with a total introversion is, I believe, a supraliteral description of what occurs when we allow the belief that the tools we created have no sacred purpose and hubris permits us to believe we birthed a complex system that reflects all complex systems.⁣ ⁣ 𝘈 𝘔𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳 𝘒𝘯𝘰𝘸𝘴 𝘏𝘦𝘳 𝘊𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥⁣ ⁣ For a period of time, there is a knowing that a mother has for her child. A knowing which must, naturally, constrict back into herself for emergence of a new soft technology, separate from the one that birthed it in order for it to better integrate its conception.⁣ ⁣ Socrealism denies that natural rite to occur and encourages a mechanized reality to spread its own genesis. A genesis that is inherently counter to life and anti-human.⁣ ⁣ 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘍𝘭𝘰𝘰𝘥⁣ ⁣ We know this story. Innately we do. But if the knowing becomes mechanized the facts are no longer true.⁣ ⁣ We have, and we are now experienced within a war unique to our history. One in which both soft (ourselves, our very humanity) and hard technology was the weapon. Perhaps not since World War I have we seen such a use of weaponry and an application of innovation spreading across our people and removing the boundaries between battlefield, trench, home, and even heart.⁣ ⁣ We see the destruction. Many cannot or choose not to see it. Can we blame them? Do we wish that they do? Should everyone see it? When they do what happens then? Is that a realistic or human approach to another crime against humanity? Is that justice? I don’t think so.⁣ ⁣ (Cont)

Biden Discusses AI With Xi Jinping Last week, President Biden had a one-hour-45-minute phone conversation with Xi Jinping, the leader of China, including discussion of AI topics. The White House readout says the leaders discussed “talks to address AI-related risks.” And before the call, a senior administration official mentioned efforts to prepare an upcoming US-China dialogue “aimed at managing the risk and safety challenges posed by advanced forms of AI.” The US and China have already cooperated on responsible AI development, as both sides endorsed the UN’s historic AI resolution last month. One heated AI topic was US technology-related sanctions on China, which include extensive export controls that restrict China’s access to AI hardware and the corresponding supply chain. In a statement following the Xi-Biden phone call, China’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs warned that “China is not going to sit back and watch” if the US “is adamant on containing China’s high-tech development.” Expect AI to remain a top issue in US-China dialogues. #AI #AIPolicy #InternationalRelations
