#week6tech252 was well priced. I was very intrigued and excited to tell the students that if they think they might like it, that they should seriously consider it. My AT however said he "didn't really see the point". How can we encourage teachers to see the value of coding?

What happens if..? Coding is a needed skill but more than ½ ON students did not pass the recent EQAO. Shouldn’t we focus on mastering math-the basics, they will also develop the critical thinking and problem-solving needed for computational thinking. #Scaffolding #week6Tech252

Hold the press! Makerspace is not a new concept, just a new word on the age-old activity centres. You know the ones for collaborative play: water, art (loved the playdo), writing, building and dress-up centres. The tools are new, 3-D printers & computers for coding #Week6Tech252

During my time in practicum, students were working on their coding game - a very basic coding game that allowed students to see what their imagination has created. Schools should be a haven for creative students, because those are the ones who influence the most #week6tech252

Computational thinking🤔🖥️ allows students to think abstractly about the concrete, creatively solve problems, & understand patterns to conceptualize the BIG picture. These skills are transferable beyond the realm of the computer -let's put coding in the classroom! #week6tech252
