Besmele, İslam kültüründe ve günlük yaşamında her güzel işe başlarken okunan "Bismillâhirrahmânirrrahîm" (Rahmân ve Rahîm olan Allah’ın adıyla) cümlesidir.
-Mânası: "Sonsuz merhamet ve şefkat sahibi olan Allah’ın adıyla başlarım."
-Amacı: Kişinin kendi sınırlı gücüne değil; Yaratıcı'nın sınırsız kudretine, rahmetine ve iznine sığınarak bir işe niyet etmesidir.
Nitelik ve Rolü:
-Kur'an-ı Kerim'in (Tevbe Suresi hariç) her suresinin başında yer alır.
-Bir müminin yaptığı işi ibadet seviyesine yükselten, o işe bereket, bilinç ve anlam katan manevi bir anahtardır.
-Varlık felsefesi açısından; insanın ve bütün evrenin kendi namına değil, İlahi Güç adına ve O'nun yasalarıyla hareket ettiğinin bir ifadesidir.

Bediüzzaman Said Nursi’nin 1. Söz’deki bu ifadeleri, doğrudan doğruya varlık felsefesi (ontoloji) ve maddenin derin yapısı ile ilgilidir. Metni kuantum fiziğinin temel paradigmaları üzerinden analiz ettiğimizde, klasik (Newtoncu) fiziğin "ölü, durağan ve bağımsız madde" anlayışının aksine; kuantum evreninin "ilişkisel, dinamik ve bilgi odaklı" yapısıyla derin bir paralellik ortaya çıkar.

Basmala (Besmele) is the phrase "Bismillahirrahmānirrahīm" ("In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful"), recited at the beginning of every good deed in Islamic culture and daily life.
